Case Keenum might be a below-average starting QB in the NFL but in college, he was practically as good as it got from a statical standpoint. Accuracy, precision, big stats and an even bigger heart – Keenum had it all on the college level.
His 19,217 total passing yards for his career rank number one all-time. The next closet guy after him is more than 2,000 yards away. Technically, Keenum played five years in college, but even if you removed his 2010 injury-riddled season in which he only played three games and threw for 636 yards, his numbers would dwarf everybody else on this list.
Keenum had three seasons at Houston college in which threw for over 5,000 yards. In two of those campaigns, he completed over 70% of his passes. When you consider Keenum tore his ACL in 2010 and not only came back in 2011 but also had his best year, it makes his status on this list even more solidified.
Regardless of the numbers, his teams were never in the mix to win a national title and that of course, dissolved any chance he had of winning the Heisman. But still, no one in the history of college football has thrown for more yards and no one has more 5,000 yard passing seasons than him. Also, and more importantly, Keenum has thrown the most touchdowns in college football history with 200. This list would be obsolete without him.
