Pac-12 Conference

Add: BYU Cougars

Many people would probably say Boise State, as they are the greatest program ever amongst the current Group of 5 demographic. However, when considering FBS Independent Brigham Young’s argument, the Cougars get the apparent edge.

Both schools regularly challenge Pac-12 participants and have strong histories in the modern CFB era. Where BYU gains the advantage is their biggest rival, Utah, being a Pac-12 team.

This results in the conference already having a grip on the state of Utah, something they do not have on Idaho. And just imagine the hype that would surround one of the most hate-filled rivalries in all of college football also is a battle for a spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

That would be a relevant boost for a conference that is seemingly overlooked by the bulk of the college football world.

Remove: Colorado Buffaloes

There isn’t too much to say about this one. Arizona is the only team that could compete with the Buffs over who should leave the Pac-12, but if the former were to depart, a hit would be dealt to the annual battle for the Territorial Cup.

Colorado played their first season within their current conference in 2011. From then to now, they have had only two winning seasons out of ten total, resulting in a pair of bowl bids (both of which saw gruesome CU defeats).
