Big Ten: Tom Allen, Indiana

The Indiana Hoosiers are statistically one of the worst Power Five programs of all time. However, you would not know it by their recent years, and current head coach Tom Allen is a big reason why.

In Indiana’s last two seasons, they have amassed a brag-worthy record of 14-7, meaning that they are winning twice as much as they are losing. With that performance has come two consecutive bowl bids and a ranked finish in 2020. A Tide fan wouldn’t be happy with it, but you have to consider the school in question here.

Big 12: Matt Campbell, Iowa State

This one should be rather obvious, as the Iowa State Cyclones were one of the coolest stories in all of college football last season; and head coach Matt Campbell was a big reason as to why.

Campbell officially took the reins at ISU in 2016 and since 2017 has averaged eight wins a year. When you are a team that is traditionally terrible at football, that is an insane stat. But wait, it gets better.

Last year, the Cyclones had their first-ever New Year’s Six bowl bid and made the most of it, beating down Pac-12 champ Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl by a score of 34-17. Running back Breece Hall was also the school’s first unanimous All-American ever and helped the team to a top-10 finish. Look out world, because here comes Campbell’s Iowa State.
