Notre Dame’s defensive backfield may not be a weakness heading into the 2021 season, but the Irish could use some bolstered depth after losing guys like Shaun Crawford and Nick McCloud.

I don’t see Notre Dame picking up a guy like Derion Kendrick, although that would be a huge get and an instant upgrade at corner, so why not the next-best defensive back on the transfer market, according to 247Sports? Jordan Moore is rated the second-best defensive back currently in the portal and he could help replace Crawford instantly.

The Irish defense will see plenty of changes this offseason as Marcus Freeman has taken over for Clark Lea and adding someone like Moore (who Freeman is familiar with) would help instantly.

Moore started his career at Texas A&M but then transferred to Houston where he played both linebacker and safety where he accounted for 26 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble in seven career games. The former four-star prospect may not have a crazy-good resume, but he’s got the talent.

Land Moore from Houston and watch him fit right in at safety with the Irish immediately.
