Clay Helton and USC football have been active in the transfer portal this offseason, landing five high-impact names who could all see the field immediately.

Keaontay Ingram was a big addition as he could push for starting snaps at running back, KD Nixon went from one Pac-12 squad to another that could utilize him better, Tahj Washington could be a breakout star, Ishmael Sopsher comes over from Alabama to play in the trenches and Xavion Alford should bolster the secondary.

But Helton shouldn’t stop adding guys from the portal just yet. There are still some big names out there who could help USC immediately in 2021.

Alijah Vera-Tucker is gone and a left tackle is going to be needed heading into next season. The Trojans aren’t exactly bringing in a ready contributor at the tackle spot with the top signee in the 2021 class rated as a three-star and he isn’t enrolled early.

Chibueze Nwanna may not have the best resume after a couple of years in Fayetteville, but he has the frame and was once considered a top JUCO prospect.

Nwanna stands 6-foot-7 and weighs in at about 330 pounds and he was ranked the No. 38 JUCO prospect in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports, and had a relatively quiet career with the Razorbacks. He never really caught on with Arkansas but he could excel with a change of scenery and USC could be just that with a potential opening at tackle.

Redshirt freshman Casey Collier is the projected starter to replace Vera-Tucker, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing to have some competition.
