2. North Carolina State Wolfpack

NC State was a very overlooked yet also very solid squad in 2020, finishing with a final record of 8-4 and only losses to formidable opponents (Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Miami, and Kentucky). In the season to come, the Wolfpack will host the Tigers for what they hope will result in an upset victory.

Unfortunately for the former, they have failed to keep either of their last two meetings versus Clemson within a margin smaller than 34 points. It would take quite a makeover for a program to overcome inferiority that steep.

1. Georgia Bulldogs

Without any debate, the Georgia Bulldogs are the Tigers’ biggest threat on their 2021 regular-season schedule.

Georgia made the national title game in the 2017 season and went to overtime with the Alabama Crimson Tide before falling just short of such a prize. Since then, they have seemingly been only one missing piece away from trying to run it back.

Clemson will head into the neutral site of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., for their season-opening affair with the Dawgs, and it is already being talked about as one of the biggest games to watch for the next CFB year. If anyone is going to actually pull through in topping the Tigers before they even hit the postseason, it will be Georgia.
