Walker Little, OT, Stanford

Walker Little is one of the toughest prospects in the entire 2021 NFL draft to try to project when he’ll be taken. Like a few others in the series, Little would likely be a higher pick in the draft had he not sat out the 2020 season.

In 2019, Little injured his knee after the season opener and has not appeared in a game since. That adds even more question marks, as at 6’7, 313 lbs, Little has a massive frame that works on his knees as he gets further into his pro career.

Little was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and ranked ninth on 247 Sports recruiting rankings in 2017. He had 33 scholarship offers from a virtual who’s who of college football: Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Miami, and Oklahoma just to name a few. Ultimately, Little chose Stanford.

Little was a pre-season All-American in 2019 before the injury hit. He’s a solid big man whose athleticism is something you’d see in someone much smaller. That’s something you cannot teach that scouts will drool over. He has good quickness as well and shifting along the line is rarely an issue.

Every now and then, Little struggles with someone coming off the edge and can get right around him. Even though he’s quick off the snap, he sometimes waits to engage with the defensive lineman for a split second which results in him being pushed back and opening a hole for a linebacker to blitz in.

Overall, there’s nothing to not like about Little. Any of his major issues are things that with time can be corrected at the next level. Little has first-round talent, but his lack of game fit could result in him dropping to day three. If he does, someone is getting a future All-Pro.
