2021 NFL Mock Draft: Full 3-round projections after Pro Day workouts
Even with the stellar additions via free agency, the Jaguars need more help with their 27th ranked pass defense (264.4 passing yards allowed per game).
The Jets make their first defensive selection in this draft by addressing the pass rush with Jayson Oweh who is considered by many to be a first-round talent.
Last season, the Falcons accumulated 29 sacks (tied for 23rd in the league). While this is a vast improvement from the previous season, the pass rush is still needed tremendously.
The Dolphins add another former teammate of Tua Tagovailoa as they need more efficient blocking from the interior offensive line.
Philadelphia will need a much more efficient pass defense to compete with the rising offenses in the NFC East.
Cincinnati wasn’t able to select Ja’Marr Chase, a former elite receiver and LSU teammate of Joe Burrow, due to their need for a tackle. They can still have a solid new receiver in another former teammate of Burrow.
With the NFC South looking to contain more elite offenses, the Panthers will need a legitimate No. 1 cornerback.
The defense of the Broncos has lived far past their prime of contending for a Super Bowl. They will now have to reload with productive playmakers.
Detroit’s defense has been the laughingstock of the league years. They need as much talent and leadership as they can to fix their 30th ranked pass defense (284.9).
The Giants made some big moves during free agency including a big signing for Kenny Golladay. They could use another playmaker at receiver for quarterback Daniel Jones.
Richard Sherman is gone via free agency and now the 49ers will need a new leader in the cornerback group.
There are several defensive needs for the Dallas Cowboys in this 2021 NFL Draft. Finding a defensive tackle that can contribute to stopping the run and in the pass rush is one of the main priorities.
Last season, the offensive line for the Jaguars gave up 44 total sacks (tied for seventh-most in the league). This will give Trevor Lawrence another former teammate in a complete franchise rebuilding process.
(Trade with New England Patriots)
The Giants made the deal with the Patriots so they can address the many issues on their team. They need help in the interior offensive line, which was the main reason for them giving up 50 sacks this season (tied for fourth in the league).
Los Angeles would have preferred to get an offensive tackle in the first round. With Dillon Radunz still being available with the 47th overall pick, it is a suitable second option.
The offensive line, particularly the interior offensive line, remains the weakest among the Raiders’ potentially dangerous offense.
