Arizona State is in need of linebacker depth but Ben Davis could do the Sun Devils one better and actually crack the starting lineup.

Back in his high school days, the former five-star and No. 10 recruit in the country got an offer from Arizona State along with about two-dozen other programs but he committed to Alabama to play for a perennial national title contender. He expected to wait his turn and then take over one of the linebacker positions, becoming the latest great defender to make it to the NFL from Alabama.

That didn’t quite happen.

Davis played in just eight career games with the Tide, recording seven total tackles and a sack which didn’t exactly live up to expectations.

Edwards could immediately upgrade the linebacker position with an experienced piece like Davis and he could just need a change of scenery to really explode at the collegiate level.
