Let’s go ahead and break down three potential landing spots for the former Notre Dame football quarterback Ian Book in the 2021 NFL Draft

Notre Dame football will have a new starting quarterback this fall as their former quarterback Ian Book is no longer with the program and is headed for the NFL draft. Ian Book had a very successful college career at Notre Dame under center the last few seasons.

The former Irish quarterback finished his career throwing for 8,948 yards, 72 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. Book also helped lead the Irish to multiple playoff appearances in 2018 and 2020.

Oh, and he also is now the all-time winningest starting quarterback in Notre Dame history with 30 wins overall. Not too shabby for a quarterback who was not labeled as a big-time recruit coming out of high school.

Depending on what mock drafts you look at (there are a ton) Book for the most part is being predicted to be a day three pick, but a few are having him not being drafted at all. If Book did surprisingly not get drafted he would be a top priority after the NFL draft was finished next Saturday.

Whoever ends up drafting Book, or signs him as a rookie free agent is going to get a player who gives everything he has day in, day out.  Book isn’t the biggest or the strongest, but one thing he is by watching him play is a winner. His stats and overall record prove that.

As mentioned earlier in this piece, Book was not labeled as a big-time recruit by the different recruiting media outlets coming out of high school. The El Dorado Hills High School product was seen as a three-star prospect by pretty much all the recruiting sites. Book did not let the number of stars stop him from playing Division I football at the highest level.

If previous drafts have taught us anything, it’s that you do not have to be a first-round pick, or a high pick in general to have a successful career. Go ask the likes of Tom Brady or Russell Wilson. They will be the first to tell you that.

Here are three teams who I believe would be a good fit for Ian Book in the NFL.
