Rashod Bateman. 20. Pick Analysis. WR. Minnesota. player. 57. Scouting Report

The Bears could probably afford to trade up in the draft and take a quarterback somewhere in the top 10. Heck, Bears fans are so desperate for good quarterback play that they would probably be fine with giving up a number of picks to get someone like Justin Fields.

While a trade is definitely possible, we’re going to stick with Chicago at No. 20 and there won’t be a first-round caliber quarterback left in the class.

Chicago will go with the next best option which is a receiver.

If you look at the Bears’ receiving corps, you’d realize that the position group is arguably one of the worst in the league. Outside of Allen Robinson who was just franchise-tagged, the Bears don’t really have any go-to targets. So if Robinson is to ever get injured, the offense will be in serious trouble.

That’s where Rashod Bateman comes into play. The 6-2, 210-pound star from Minnesota had himself a huge sophomore season in 2019 with 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 20.3 yards per reception. He played just five games in 2020 and had 36 catches for 472 yards and two touchdowns.

Bateman could help get this offense back on track. Maybe fix the quarterback position next year.
