2021 NFL Mock Draft: Mac Jones explodes into top 5 in final edition
The main need for the Jets after dealing Sam Darnold this offseason is quarterback and with them taking Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick, they can start looking at other needs such as cornerback, tackle, running back, receiver, cornerback, edge rusher, linebacker, or even tight end. Yes, the Jets need just about everything which isn’t surprising given how bad they’ve been.
I could see New York reaching for a running back like Travis Etienne here to help boost that offense with Wilson at quarterback. But defense may be the way to go.
Azeez Ojulari would be a safe pick here as one of the top edge rushers in the draft and he’s coming off his best season with Georgia, recording 31 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. He also had two pass breakups and four forced fumbles.
The Jets’ defense needs a ton of work, but they could start building around a 6-3, 240-pound edge rusher like Ojulari here.
