CB. Asante Samuel Jr.. player. Pick Analysis. Florida State. 30. 16. Scouting Report

A name that may not be in many first-round NFL mock drafts is Asante Samuel Jr. His dad was quite the football player and he’s looking to follow in his footsteps and have some success at the next level. After a strong career at Florida State, that’s looking likely.

And I’m higher on Samuel than most.

The 5-10, 185-pound cornerback from Florida State could be just what this Bills secondary needs after a big season in 2020 which fell short of a Super Bowl. Buffalo needs help in that defensive backfield and Samuel can provide it.

At Florida State, he was an absolute ballhawk, nabbing four interceptions with 29 pass breakups but he also showed that he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty with 97 total tackles, a forced fumble, and three tackles for loss in three seasons.

I could see the Bills taking someone like Kadarius Toney from Florida here or even Travis Etienne, but Samuel addresses the biggest need.
