2021 NFL Mock Draft: Mac Jones explodes into top 5 in final edition
It’s impressive what happens when a talented receiver is finally given a good quarterback. As a freshman and sophomore with Florida, he recorded 772 total yards from scrimmage with two touchdowns. He was a hybrid player who ran and caught passes but never really excelled.
And then Kyle Trask took over during Toney’s junior season and he stayed relatively quiet before the two really bonded in 2020. In fact, Toney had 1,145 yards from scrimmage with 11 touchdowns. Most of those yards came as a receiver as he caught 70 passes for 984 yards and 10 touchdowns.
So Toney will be drafted here as a receiver and the Buccaneers could use another one.
Giving Tom Brady even more weapons is bad news for the rest of the league, especially when they’re blazing fast like Toney.
