WR. Alabama. DeVonta Smith. 6. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 59

It seems like there’s an Alabama receiver going in the top 10 every single year and DeVonta Smith might just end up as the best of the bunch.

After winning the Heisman Trophy in 2020, Smith’s stock skyrocketed. He went from really good Alabama wide out as a junior to elite pass-catcher in 2020. He went from “one of the best receivers in the country” to the best player in the nation in just one year.

Smith was a home-run threat from the get-go. He averaged 20 yards per catch as a freshman and took three of his eight receptions to the house. He was then given a bigger role as a sophomore with 593 yards and six touchdowns on 42 catches. He improved as a junior with 1,256 yards and 14 touchdowns on 68 receptions.

And then his senior year was magical. He finished with 117 receptions for 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was the best player in America.

What better prize than to be reunited with the quarterback that helped you get to the top down in Miami. A Tua Tagovailoa-Smith connection would be lethal.
