One of the most talented players in the NFL draft slipped a little bit and that allowed a quarterback-hungry team like the Chicago Bears to leap up and take very talented signal-caller Justin Fields from Ohio State.

The Bears have been looking for a franchise quarterback and have swung and missed on big trades for guys like Jay Cutler and missed badly when they selected Mitchell Trubisky from North Carolina.

Fields was one of the best quarterbacks in college football the past few seasons and is one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the draft. He has phenomenal physical ability, with great arm strength and great decision-making. Fields has mobility as well and is a tough and physical runner.

I think that Fields has been scrutinized more than any other quarterback in this draft class for various reasons, including his ability to read defenses and get the ball out quickly. Those are things he could be improved upon, but he has the highest ceiling of any quarterback not named Trevor Lawrence.

Grade: A

I think this is a great move for a franchise that is starved for the next big superstar at the quarterback position. The price to move all the way up to 11 was expensive, but if Fields can be the guy to lead this franchise in the right direction then it is merely a small price to pay. I consider this to be one of the steals of the draft, as I think that Fields is the second-best quarterback in the draft, and to get a player of that caliber with the 11th pick is fantastic value.
