If you’re compared to Derwin James, that’s probably a good indicator that you’re going to have a ton of success in the NFL.

James was a Pro Bowl safety the last time he took the field in 2018 but injuries have kept him off the field since. But NFL.com’s scouting report of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah indicates that the Notre Dame linebacker compares favorably to James.

How is that possible if Owusu-Koramoah is a linebacker and James is a safety? Many believe that the Notre Dame star is going to translate to a safety in the NFL because his body type is caught in between the two. He could be a hybrid player who might fit into both spots, but he’s going to be good wherever he ends up on the defensive side of the ball.

Owusu-Koramoah recorded stats in just two seasons with Notre Dame, finishing his career with 142 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, an interception, five forced fumbles, anf seven pass breakups.

The fact that he fell out of the first round was shocking and he probably could have gone anywhere from the 16-32 range. He’s easily the best remaining player on the board and the biggest first-round snub in this draft class.
