Justin Fields and the 5 biggest steals from 2021 NFL Draft
The 2021 NFL Draft is officially in the books. Who were some of the biggest steals this year?
There was a lot of hype around this year’s NFL Draft and it did not disappoint. You had the best quarterback prospect in a decade off the board first, San Francisco pulling a surprise and taking North Dakota State’s Trey Lance over Mac Jones and some of the draft’s best prospects saw a bit of an unexpected fall.
Everyone was following along to see if the Falcons would pull a surprise, but they stood pat and took Florida tight end, Kyle Pitts. With the draft now in the rearview, it is time for everyone to review how their team did and convince themselves that they won the NFL draft and that a big playoff push is in the cards in 2021.
On draft night, there were some prospects that did not go where they were expected to.
Alabama quarterback Mac Jones fell outside of the top 10 after some draft experts thought that he could go as high as third to San Francisco. Another Alabama prospect, defensive tackle Christian Barmore was thought to be a first-round lock, but he saw himself falling out of the first round entirely and going at the top of the second round.
Miami was another school that saw two of their top prospects in Brevin Jordan and Quincy Roche falling to the fifth and sixth rounds respectively after having been projected higher.
All of these guys mentioned will have chances to make their teams and make instant impacts as a rookie. But they were just a few of the players that I thought were steals in this draft.
There were other guys who fell and should have been picked much higher and here are the top five steals in the 2021 NFL Draft.
