Changes have been a-plenty this offseason for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football.

The Wolverines have seen a number of players hit the transfer portal while the coaching staff has seen a shake-up of its own. Don Brown was let go this offseason and Mike Macdonald was brought over from the Ravens. And then Maurice Linguist was hired as co-defensive coordinator and then left months later to take the Buffalo head coaching job.

Steve Clinkscale was hired as defensive backs coach to fill that last hole on the staff and now Michigan is moving forward with the hopes of turning the ship around.

Hitting the transfer portal for some key additions could also help matters. These guys should top Harbaugh’s wish list this offseason.

I originally had Texas A&M receiver Shadrach Banks in this spot, but he transferred to TCU this week even though he would have made sense for the Wolverines who offered him in high school.

Marquis Spiker also held a Michigan offer in high school as he was one of the top recruits in the 2018 class. He was actually the No. 59 player and ninth-best receiver in the 247Sports Composite. Reigning from the state of California, it made sense that he chose to stay out on the West Coast and choose a Pac-12 program like Washington to play for Chris Petersen, but the coaching change seemed to have swayed him to enter the portal.

Spiker had just three catches for 67 yards in his career and he has the body and the talent to be one of the best new additions for the Wolverines in 2021.

The Wolverines are losing Nico Collins and Giles Jackson, so adding a sure-handed target like Spiker would be a huge get.
