Texas A&M Football: Top 3 prospects for 2022 NFL draft
While entering 2021 as darkhorse playoff contenders, Texas A&M Football also has some of the best prospects in the 2022 NFL draft.
After getting Jimbo Fisher to leave Florida State for a monster contract in 2018, Texas A&M football has been waiting for a chance to dethrone Alabama and take the top spot in the SEC and make the college football playoff.
The Aggies had their best season in 2020 since the Johnny Manziel era and are hoping that behind an elite defense and running game, they can finally get past the Crimson Tide and make the SEC championship.
The Aggies return most of their starters from last year’s team and some of them will be some of the most talented prospects in next year’s NFL draft.
This should be the best draft class that the Aggies have had under Fisher and it should only get better from here, as Texas A&M football has had some really strong recruiting classes in the past couple of seasons.
After not having a first-round pick in 2021, it is not crazy to think that the Aggies could have multiple first-rounders in 2022 and that could be a theme for the future.
After starting quarterback in Kellen Mond and some offensive linemen, Texas A&M football will have to reload at those positions, but they are positioned pretty well to replace those guys.
Where you will find the best draft prospects for A&M is going to be on defense and in the backfield. One of the reasons that some believe that A&M is in a good enough spot to take down Alabama is because of their defense and that is because they have legit talent on that side of the ball. Look for several Aggie defenders to hear their names called next April.
