Pittsburgh Panthers: Aaron Donald, DT

This has, by far, been my hardest choice to make, and I’m sure that it will subsequently be my most controversial. The other choices being 1980s quarterback Dan Marino and veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, I just feel that Aaron Donald has done so much in what is still such a young career.

In other words, I feel that one must also consider what else Donald will have accomplished by the time he hangs it up in what should be anywhere from about eight to 10 seasons from now.

So far, Donald has already been Defensive Player of the Year three times, along with being a 6x first-team All-Pro selection and 7x Pro Bowl selection. Some defensive stars who are already in Canton have done less with the entirety of their careers.

Sure, both Marino and Fitzgerald have both the stats and the longevity to make a case, but Donald has proven that he, too, has all of that and arguably more, all while not even being thirty years old yet.

And while at Pitt, Donald was a unanimous All-American and won four major awards for his quality of performance, so I will just let that speak for itself.
