5. Baylor Bears

As the Baylor Bears continue to build in head coach Dave Arranda’s second season, they look for a quarterback. Last season’s starter, Charlie Brewer, transferred to Utah. Jacob Zeno and Gary Bohanan don’t have much experience, and Kyron Drones is one of the highest-rated recruits in school history.

Because of the limited experience in the quarterback room, Drones will have an opportunity to start this fall. Drones was the only four-star recruit the Bears signed this cycle and the four-highest rated quarterback recruit Baylor has ever signed.

Ironically, one of those quarterbacks is on the roster, Gary Bohanan. So expect Drones and Bohanan to go back and forth to see who starts this fall. Both Bohanan and Drones are explosive athletes, and it could come down to who is the better passer between the two.

Drones is a natural athlete with a collegiate level arm as a true freshman. At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Drones has the size to play day one. He has the ability to make plays when contain breaks down and is a one-read and run player as of now.

Drones has to improve going through his progressions and accuracy. However, Drones has all of the tools to be a great quarterback at the college level. At worst, Drones pushes Bohanan to be his best and Drones becomes the quarterback of the future.
