Adding a veteran linebacker in the transfer portal would be a huge win for this defense which needs help just about everywhere.

Essentially everyone on the Razorbacks’ two-deep at linebacker is in their last season and most haven’t really done enough to make Arkansas’ defense strike fear into anyone. Arkansas has struggled defensively over the years and targeting someone like JJ Peterson would be wise.

In just two years with Tennessee, the former top-50 recruit from the 2018 class had just 12 total tackles in seven appearances as he never truly got to show what he could do. He would have a chance with Arkansas as the defense needs the help and he’d arguably be the most talented linebacker on the roster.

The 6-2, 225-pound linebacker had offers from just about every major program in the SEC and Chad Morris even extended him an offer before he was fired by Arkansas.

Maybe Sam Pittman can get back into the running for him and improve that defense.
