7. Scott Satterfield (Louisville)

Scott Satterfield is in the strange position of being a guy who is close to being on the hot seat while also being a name that is mentioned whenever new job openings come up.

In two seasons at Louisville, Satterfield is only 12-12 having gone 8-5 in 2019 and 4-7 last year.

Despite this, Satterfield apparently talked with South Carolina after they showed him some interest during their recent coaching search. He reached out before Louisville’s season was even over which went as far as to prompt Louisville’s athletic director to come out and say that he was “disappointed” when he heard the news. As a result, Satterfield would later write a letter of apology to season ticket holders asking for their trust.

Around the same time, Satterfield rubbed people the wrong way with controversial comments saying that players have to be “all in” and that they “don’t have a family” unlike coaches.

That said, the real issue is what happens on the field. Last season was a big disappointment after some believed that Louisville was a dark horse contender in the ACC.

Going into 2021, Satterfield’s success will depend on fifth-year quarterback Malik Cunningham and cleaning up turnovers.

Bottom line: Start winning more and all will be forgiven.
