Lane Kiffin did a remarkable job in his first season with Ole Miss football, putting the Rebels back on the map, slowly but surely.

The Rebels went 4-5 in the regular season before toppling Indiana in the postseason to finish with a 5-5 record which was better than anyone could have expected after Matt Luke left the program in a mediocre spot.

Kiffin got the most out of Matt Corral after Luke couldn’t seem to choose the correct starter over the previous seasons and he helped lead the Rebels to one of the best offensive outputs in the country.

In order to continue the build, the Rebels should hit the transfer portal hard. Kiffin has already picked up three transfers, the latest being Nigel Knott, but here are three more who he could target.

Ole Miss could use a veteran tight end and there might not be a more perfect depth addition and potential starter (outside of Arik Gilbert, obviously) than Glenn Beal.

The former Texas A&M tight end who transferred to Louisiana entered the transfer portal following his lone season with the Ragin Cajuns in 2020. He entered the portal twice when he was with Texas A&M but appeared in four games in his two years in College Station, catching five passes for 21 yards.

Beal was buried on the depth chart at tight end and was hoping to find a fresh start at Louisiana but that didn’t quite happen as he didn’t play in 2020 and is now looking for a new home.

Maybe he could follow in Kenny Yeboah’s footsteps and star as a transfer tight end in Oxford. Matt Corral would love another 6-foot-5, 250-pound target to throw to.
