Arizona State

The Arizona State Sun Devils look to be a dark horse in the Pac-12 this season. Not only did head coach Herman Edwards and the Sun Devils coaching staff recruit well, but they also used the transfer portal to their advantage, bringing in top-tier talent.

If Jayden Daniels can leap in his development (and Edwards opens the offense a bit), the Sun Devils could challenge USC in the Pac-12 South. Two of their portal signees Travez Moore and Jalin Conyers, were absolute steals. They will definitely get some snaps this fall.

  • Travez Moore (transfer), DE: Pass rush has been an issue for the Sun Devils the last two seasons. Brining in a prospect like Moore gives the Sun Devils a legitimate edge rusher who looks the part (6-foot-6 and 250 pounds). Moore, a four-star recruit out of high school, was the top-rated weakside defensive end in the country from the class of 2018. Not playing much at LSU could create a chip on the shoulder of Moore, which could lead to a big season from the Louisiana native.
  • Jalin Conyers (transfer), TE:  Conyers was as big a steal as Moore. Not only was Conyers a four-star and the fifth-rated tight end in his class, but Conyers is also just a sophomore. The Texas high school standout is in the mold of Jimmy Graham, Kyle Pitts, and Travis Kelce. Conyers is a smooth, natural athlete with good speed for a tight end. In addition, Conyers has natural ball skills and could be a great target for Jayden Daniels. Already projected as a starter this fall, Conyers will open up the perimeter for ASU’s wide receivers.
