Big 12 Football: Top 4 Heisman Trophy favorites for 2021 season

Hall’s teammate and signal-caller, Brock Purdy, is another Cyclone with Heisman potential for the upcoming season. Over the past three campaigns, though, Purdy’s piled up 8,982 passing yards and 62 passing touchdowns making quite the name for himself among Big 12 fans. And although he doesn’t move quite like Lamar Jackson or Michael Vick, Purdy is a capable runner; he’s totaled 939 yards and 18 scores with his feet.
With Purdy (and Hall) back in Ames for another season, Iowa State should enter the 2021 campaign with high expectations. After finishing 9-3 a year ago, being ranked outside the Top 10 would be a letdown.
If the 6-foot-1 signal-caller from Gilbert, Ariz., is satisfied with holding a couple of handfuls of school records, then Purdy doesn’t need to play another snap for the Cyclones. But if he wants to solidify his position in college football as more than just another quarterback, adding a Heisman to his resume would certainly do the trick.
