Oklahoma Stats: 3,851 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, 8 interceptions,1,298 rushing yards, 20 rushing touchdowns

The latest installation of “Transfer U” for the Sooners at quarterback was Jalen Hurts. Experience was not an issue, after spending the previous three seasons at Alabama and winning two national championships with the Crimson Tide.

Hurts made the exact impact needed to keep Oklahoma afloat at the top of the Big 12, winning big games and keeping the Sooners’ offense potent.

The big performances he had at Alabama continued at Oklahoma. Led by Lincoln Riley’s high-octane offense, Hurts led the Sooners into Waco for the lead of the Big 12. After falling behind 28-3, Hurts threw for four touchdowns and returned for a 34-31 win.

The return game in Arlington for the Big 12 Championship was just as exciting. Although Hurts had three turnovers, he was able to get Oklahoma their fifth straight Big 12 title.

The ending to Hurts’ career was not quite as expected as Oklahoma was blown out by eventual national champion LSU. Regardless, Hurts re-wrote the final chapter of his career and was a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy.
