Jacob Conover

Jacob Conover is probably the most flashy QB that BYU has on its roster, and he has drawn comparisons to former BYU quarterback and current Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Conover had a prolific high school career. The Chandler, Ariz., native threw for over 10,000 yards and had 102 touchdowns, while also helping Chandler High School win three straight state championships. He was even recruited by the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Check out this pass he threw in the 2019 Polynesian Bowl:

Like Zach Wilson did so many times at BYU, Conover has the ability to throw the ball deep and accurately off his body, which is not easy to do on a regular basis (unless your name is Patrick Mahomes).

The only thing that might hold Conover back is his size. On the BYU Athletic’s page, he is listed as 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds. Though that is small for a quarterback, his raw talent and passing ability is something the coaching staff cannot ignore.
