Texas A&M football trending with 4-star 2023 QB Eli Holstein
Just last week, one of the best quarterbacks in the entire 2023 class took a trip to College Station to check out Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M football program.
Eli Holstein made an unofficial visit with Texas A&M on June 17 and then attended the Aggies’ camp a day later. This trip seemed to sway the talented four-star prospect’s eventual decision toward Texas A&M.
In fact, he received a crystal ball from Texas A&M insider Brian Perroni with a confidence level of six this week which just goes to show Fisher and Co. made good progress here.
It’s going to be tough to wrestle Holstein away from his home state of Louisiana as LSU is firmly in the mix and probably right there at the top of his list, but Texas A&M made some impressive progress last weekend. Picking up that crystal ball for the Louisiana native is huge and it might give A&M their quarterback in the 2023 class early on.
Holstein is ranked the No. 124 recruit in the 2023 class as well as the seventh-best quarterback, according to the composite. He holds nearly two dozen offers including Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Penn State, and Utah.
Texas A&M football’s 2023 class needs that kick start
Will Holstein be the kickstart the 2023 class needs? The Aggies currently have one commit in the form of unranked defensive lineman Anthony James but that’s it.
Landing a quarterback this early in the class could go a long way because he could help Jimbo recruit the remainder of the targets. A quarterback can often be a staff’s best recruiter and that would be the case with Holstein.
This is a great development for the Aggies after his visit.
