I can’t say enough about the job Sam Pittman has done with Arkansas football in such a short time. He took an essentially dead program and revitalized it in just one year.

Arkansas hadn’t won an SEC game in a couple of years under Chad Morris before Pittman took over and he immediately changed that with a few victories and nearly a couple of more. The Razorbacks finished with a losing record, but they were much more competitive with Pittman in charge and Feleipe Franks (a quarterback he got to transfer in) under center.

Recruiting has also seen an uptick under Pittman. He took over a program coming off the No. 45 recruiting class in 2018 and 23rd-best class in 2019 and signed the 30th-best class in 2020 after taking over a team trending in the wrong direction. And then he signed the No. 25 class in 2021.

As if that isn’t good enough, he currently owns the No. 20 class for 2022 and is close to landing two more important prospects to grow the class to 13.

Jaylen Lewis, a three-star cornerback from Tennessee, who is set to make a decision on July 2 and just took a visit to Fayetteville last season, and Anthony Brown, a three-star athlete also from Tennessee, who may also be on commit watch are both trending toward Arkansas.

Arkansas football picking up steam with both prospects

The Razorbacks have picked up a number of crystal balls for both over the past couple of days and they now hold 100 percent of the predictions as commitments could be coming sooner rather than later.

They’d be the sixth and seventh-best commits in Arkansas’ 2022 class and will probably jump the program into the 15-19 range in terms of team rankings.

Pittman is doing one heck of a job with the Razorbacks and his recruiting hasn’t slowed down since he’s taken over.
