Isaiah Sategna was committed to Texas A&M not long ago, but after he opened things up, Oregon football made a move and is now the favorite.

When it comes to recruiting on a national level, few programs do it as well as Oregon football does, especially for a team with one playoff berth that came seven years ago.

Despite that, Oregon football isn’t just a program that recruits the West — the Ducks land kids from all over, and in 2022, they are making some serious headway in the South.

The Ducks have already gotten two commitments out of Alabama, including one from four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey. Oregon football has also landed a commitment out of Mississippi and if things go as expected, it will add the state of Arkansas to the list.

More from Saturday Blitz

That’s because the Ducks are looking like the favorite to land four-star wide receiver Isaiah Sategna out of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Sategna is ranked as the No. 224 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings and the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder is ranked 35th among wide receivers.

What makes him special is his speed. He’s a track athlete and ran a 10.8 in the 100-meter dash a couple of years ago as a freshman.

A Pac-12 battle between Oregon and USC

Sategna de-committed from Texas A&M earlier this month and then took visits to Oregon football, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and USC, where he was this past weekend.

After that visit, he narrowed his list down to two: Oregon and USC.

The Ducks had already picked up a crystal ball projection on June 22 prior to his visit to USC and then they got more after he trimmed his list down to just two teams.

But Sategna seemed to really like his visit to USC and things can change quickly on the recruiting trail.

For Oregon, it would be a nice addition. The Ducks have a receiver committed in 2022 but it’s just a three-star recruit ranked in the 800s. Sategna is dynamic and if you add him to the pair of top-100 wideouts from the 2021 class, and Oregon will have a promising future at wide receiver, and a lot of speed.
