2. JT Daniels will have a Joe Burrow-esque season

The biggest attraction for the Bulldogs this year is former five-star and USC transfer JT Daniels. Despite appearing in only four games last season, Daniels excited Dawg fans with his performances and deep ball passing ability.

Daniels is on several Heisman frontrunner lists for 2021, and he looks poised to be Georgia’s best quarterback in years. The Dawgs have not had a quarterback to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season since Aaron Murray did back in 2013, and have never had one throw for over 4,000 yards.

Even without George Pickens for some time, Georgia has a number of offensive weapons such as Jermaine Burton, Kearis Jackson, James Cook, Zamir White, Arik Gilbert, Darnell Washington, and Adonai Mitchell set to make an impact. It’s not hard to see why Daniels is poised for a huge 2021, one that might rival another former SEC quarterback who was also a transfer.

For possibly the next decade or so, former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow will serve as a measuring stick for SEC quarterbacks to come. His Heisman Trophy and national championship year with LSU truly was remarkable, as he and the Tiger offense set records, led with his 5,671 passing yards and 60 touchdowns. Burrow was later selected No. 1 overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Like Daniels, Burrow was also surrounded by elite talent on offense such as new Bengals teammate Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Terrace Marshall Jr., and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. If JT and others on the Georgia offense can stay healthy, it would not be crazy to see Daniels and the Georgia offense have a similar season to that of the 2019 LSU Tigers.
