Brian Kelly has been recruiting like a madman lately. He reeled in the No. 9 recruiting class in the country for 2021 which will be on campus this fall and Notre Dame football currently has the No. 2 class in the nation for 2022. Not bad for a coach who’s trying to narrow the skill gap with the likes of Ohio State, Clemson, and Alabama.

The Irish just picked up a commitment from four-star top-100 linebacker Jaylen Sneed on Monday, pushing them up a spot to No. 2 in the 2022 rankings but they’re not done yet.

There are still some big names on the board in the class of 2022 who could commit as early as this month and help the Irish push for that No. 1 spot.

Which top 2022 targets could be the next to commit to the Irish?

Notre Dame is currently trending with four-star cornerback Benjamin Morrison from Arizona and it’d be quite the recruiting victory for Brian Kelly seeing as he’s also high on Florida State, Washington, Oregon, and Oklahoma. Beating out some of the nation’s elite (and a riser like Florida State) would be huge for the momentum in the class.

Morrison took official visits to Oregon and Washington and his first trip was to South Bend to check out Notre Dame. Since then, the Irish have received 100 percent of the crystal ball predictions on 247Sports.

And in terms of confidence, the crystal balls are ranked on the “high” end.

Notre Dame has two cornerbacks committed in its 2022 class and Morrison would immediately become the second-highest rated behind Jaden Mickey if he committed — which I see happening sooner rather than later.

The four-star from Arizona is ranked the No. 316 recruit and No. 31 cornerback in the class, according to the composite.
