Wake Forest football is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, a collegiate league that has seen better days than the ones they are currently enduring. However, that does not mean that the ACC is in no way formidable.

This is a lesson that the Deacs have learned firsthand, as the Atlantic Coast is still one of the biggest conferences that the country has to offer to college football fans.

With that in mind, there are three particular foes that stand out on Wake’s 2021 schedule. But who are they, and what makes them so tough?

3. North Carolina State

The Pack saw an outstanding season in 2020, winning eight games in a stretch riddled with a global COVID-19 pandemic. And it is pretty safe to say that most people did not see that quality of performance coming.

NC State’s meeting with Wake Forest will be in Winston-Salem, but also nestled in between two brutal road games (both of which we will touch on a little later). And it is important to note that there is no bye week in sight for the Deacs during this slate.

Softly put, if Wake tops the Wolfpack by just one point, it will be a colossal win for the program, especially since it will be over who is perhaps their biggest rival in the sport.
