College football: 2010s biggest what-ifs: 22. Rawleigh Williams III stays healthy

Injuries are just a part of the game. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t any less cruel.

The 2017 NFL Draft class produced plenty of terrific running backs. Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon and of course, Alvin Kamara highlight a terrific group. During their time at their respective colleges, each of those previously mentioned players put up incredible numbers. But an underrated name who was just as good if not better in some cases, was Arkansas back, Rawleigh Williams III.

In what would be his final year, Williams III rushed for 1,360 yards, 12 touchdowns and averaged 5.6 yards per carry.

Unfortunately for Williams III, his NFL potential will never be realized. During a spring game, he would suffer what turned out to be a career-ending neck injury. The Razorbacks surely could’ve used his help as they played uninspiring ball since then.

Williams III was fast, elusive and had no problem trucking his defenders. Due to injury, we’ll never know how dominant he truly could’ve become.
