Nebraska football lost one of its top players to the transfer portal in former wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson and while there isn’t anybody that can replace exactly what he can do, the Huskers made the best out of a bad situation and landed Samori Toure.

Toure transferred from the University of Montana which didn’t play in 2020. But in 2019, he was an All-American and hauled in 87 passes for 1.495 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also averaged 17.2 yards per reception.

That big-play ability will be needed next season. The Huskers do have a solid group of wideouts for Martinez to work with and in addition to Toure, there is also Omar Manning, Oliver Martin, and Zavier Betts, but Nebraska needs a home-run hitter and Toure is it.

Of course, Toure will be coming up a level of play from the FCS, so it’s hard to know exactly how he’ll hold up. So far, so good though and he looks like a No. 1 wideout, which is something the Huskers were lacking without him.

Now, it might be one of the deepest receiver groups Frost has had during his four seasons with the Huskers.
