JoJo Domann is another key cog in the Nebraska defense and he’s a guy that also didn’t have to return but chose to play a fifth season in Lincoln.

Domann has had his ups and downs over the years. At times, he’s made some spectacular plays, and at other times, he has clearly tried to do too much.

But last season, in just eight games, Domann finished a career-high 58 tackles. He also had 6.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and five pass breakups.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker has a bunch of talents but he seemed to settle into his role last year. Yet, he’s in this spot because he offers something that few others do on this defense. He can cover, rush the passer, and hold his own in the front seven — a true three-down linebacker.

And if he can play with the kind of consistency he did a year ago, the impact plays will come which will help him make a strong case to play on Sundays.
