Purdue has a couple of guys who could be in the conversation for top 50 players in college football in David Bell and George Karlaftis, but not even that is enough to keep the Boilermakers in this game.

The Boilermakers were just 2-4 last season with those two starring and even Rondale Moore making an appearance and this is a make-or-break season for Jeff Brohm.

All the pressure will be on Purdue this season and in the third game of the year after facing Oregon State and UConn, the Boilermakers will be forced to head to South Bend to take on one of the best teams in the country and it’ll be a rude awakening.

Notre Dame has to hope that the Boilermakers are still reeling after losing the final four games of the 2020 season, going from 2-0 to 2-4 in the snap of a finger. I see that being the case.

Jack Plummer and Aidan O’Connell are back to compete for the starting quarterback job but when you have two quarterbacks, you have zero. Unless the Boilermakers settle on a clear starter, they stand no chance here in South Bend.

Actually, they stand no chance regardless of how the quarterback battle plays out.
