BYU football has a lot of questions to answer before the 2021 season, especially at the quarterback position, but Kalani Sitake proved that the Cougars are back last year.

The Cougars finished 11-1 with a lone loss to Coastal Carolina on the road, 22-17, before winning the final two games of the year, including a Boca Raton Bowl blowout over UCF. The Cougars lost Zach Wilson to the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and are now tasked with replacing him.

BYU’s offense may not be as dominant as it was with him under center, but the Cougars aren’t going to see that big of a drop-off in 2021.

Who will BYU blow out this season?

Disclaimer: I only chose FBS teams, so Idaho State was eliminated from consideration.

Although Virginia did go 5-5 last season, I’m just not a huge believer in the Cavaliers in 2021.

Virginia got away with having an above average offense and a mediocre defense last season because, well, they played in the ACC. The Cavaliers kicked the year off with a win over a bad Duke team before losing four straight to teams with a pulse, and then they shocked North Carolina, beat a struggling Louisville team, took down Abilene Christian, and held off an average Boston College team before losing to Virginia Tech by three scores.

The Cavaliers return Brennan Armstrong under center which should help both the pass and run games as he led the team with 552 yards and five rushing scores last season. He will keep them in this game.

However, playing on the road against a BYU team the day before Halloween has all sorts of bad mojo written all over it.

I expect a 2-3 score victory for BYU here.
