Another Power Five team that I think will have a tough season in 2021 is Arizona. The Wildcats are under first-year head coach Jedd Fisch who replaced Kevin Sumlin following a nightmare 2020 season in which they finished 0-5, capped off with a 70-7 defeat against rival Arizona State.

To put it frankly, Arizona is going to be in the Pac-12’s cellar for a little while longer, and facing BYU to start the season on a neutral field isn’t going to end well.

Sure, the Cougars are still trying to sort out the quarterback position, but they have enough talent to take out a team like Arizona which is in major rebuild mode. The Wildcats will be lucky to win any of their non-conference games and that includes a home matchup with Northern Arizona.

Arizona finished No. 116 in the country in total defense, No. 120 in scoring defense, and No. 125 in rushing defense a year ago. On top of that, the Wildcats had the No. 118 scoring offense, and the 86th total offense. Basically, they didn’t do anything very well other than maintaining a solid pass defense.

This is probably going to be a long game for Arizona to start the year.
