UCLA Football: 3 teams the Bruins will blow out in 2021
Call me a hater or call me a doubter, but what Karl Dorrell was able to do in his first year with Colorado was nothing more than beginner’s luck.
Sure, Dorrell has experience coaching in the Pac-12, coaching UCLA to a 35-27 record overall and 24-18 record in conference play, but that was all the way back in 2007. A lot has changed since then and seeing him go 4-2 in his first season with Colorado was flukish to me.
I’m sure Colorado still had some talent left over from the year of Mel Tucker, but I just don’t see that success being sustainable in Boulder under Dorrell. He’s a decent coach, but he’s not going to win any Pac-12 titles any time soon.
Colorado will see some regression this season and UCLA will exact some revenge for that season-opening six-point loss to the Buffaloes in 2020.
The Buffaloes’ offense will take some steps back and the defense will probably be in the bottom half of the Pac-12 once again. This will be a true rebuilding year for Colorado.
No flukes here as UCLA wins this one big.
