After one of the worst seasons in school history, will Florida State Football rebound and get back to contending in the ACC?

Ever since Florida State Football won the national championship in 2013, it has been a slow decline into mediocrity and the Seminoles might have hit rock bottom last season.

From the first game of the season against Georgia Tech, it was evident that it was going to be a rough first season for head coach Mike Norvell. From COVID issues to blowout losses to rivals like Miami and Louisville, it was forgettable and now Norvell is going to have to make sure that he gets his culture set at the program and begin to develop players to get the Seminoles back to winning.

The theme for Florida State football this offseason was about finding some impact transfers to immediately help this team in the short term while they develop and recruit players for the future. One of the most high-profile transfers this offseason was former UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton transferring to Tallahassee.

Milton was one of the best quarterbacks in the country when he last played for the Golden Knights in 2018, but as every football fan knows, Milton suffered a horrific leg injury and has not played since. If Milton were to rediscover his 2018 form, then that would be a big thing for the Florida State football program.

Milton is not the only transfer that is going to be looked on for playmaking ability and leadership. Georgia linebacker transfer Jermaine Johnson and South Carolina defensive end transfer Keir Thomas are going to start on defense and both are impressed in the spring.

Mike Norvell has a long climb ahead of him if he hopes to get the Seminoles back to championship contention. This season is about setting the tone for the future and finding an identity for Florida State going forward.
