Another week, another mediocre ACC foe. This time, the Irish will face Georgia Tech who Geoff Collins is busy trying to turn around, but I just don’t see that happening in 2021. He’s 6-16 in two years and showed some promise early in 2020, but the Yellow Jackets are lightyears away from contention, it seems.

The Yellow Jackets finished the 2020 season with a 3-7 record with a win over Florida State, but all seven of their losses were by 10-plus points, including a 73-7 defeat at the hands of Clemson.

Jeff Sims and Jahmyr Gibbs had solid freshman seasons at quarterback and running back, respectively, but they won’t be enough against Notre Dame. Plus, Sims is a walking interception and Marcus Freeman’s defense will eat him alive.

Georgia Tech will make things interesting because of Sims’ ability to run and Gibbs being a budding star, but Notre Dame won’t be sweating out the final score in this one too much.

Final Score: Georgia Tech 17, Notre Dame 30 (9-2)
