Notre Dame’s first true road game since Week 1 against Florida State will come in mid-October against a tough Virginia Tech team.

While I don’t think the Hokies are going to be all that impressive this season, they’re always a tough out under Justin Fuente. Sure, he’s good for a blowout loss or two every season that has people scratching their heads, but he’s also known for picking up big wins when no one expects it.

I don’t think this will be one of his signature wins as Hokies head coach.

Notre Dame will be rolling at this point in the year, sitting at 5-0 after an emotional win over a ranked Cincinnati team and the Irish will march right into Blacksburg and assert their dominance.

Hendon Hooker is gone and I’m not sure Braxton Burmeister is good enough to put the team on his back for an upset here.

Give me the Irish in a 10-point game.

Final Score: Notre Dame 30, Virginia Tech 20 (6-0)
