Last season, Notre Dame marched into Chapel Hill and stole a win from a red-hot North Carolina team. You better believe Mack Brown and Co. haven’t forgotten.

Many believe North Carolina is the favorite to come out of the ACC Coastal this season and that would give them a shot at likely Atlantic champion Clemson in the conference title game. In order to prove they belong among the nation’s elite, they need to take down a team like Notre Dame in the final week of October.

This will be the perfect test for the Tar Heels who could very well be 7-0 overall at this point in the season if they win the games they’re supposed to and a victory here would put them right in that playoff conversation.

The offense will look a little different with guys like Michael Carter, Javonte Williams, Dyami Brown, and Dazz Newsome gone, but Sam Howell is still the quarterback and he’ll be in the Heisman race all year.

This will be yet another close game for the Irish, but they’ll fall short for a second straight game as the Tar Heels hit a game-winning field goal as time expires.

Mack gets his revenge.

Final Score: North Carolina 38, Notre Dame 35 (6-2)
