Notre Dame football has been a big winner throughout the 2022 recruiting class and the Irish were expected to land four-star wideout Tobias Merriweather this week, yet that doesn’t make it any less satisfying.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound receiver out of Washington state is ranked 125th overall in the 247 sports composite rankings and is rated among 247 sports’ top 100 for 2022 (75th). A number of other top programs were in the mix and the Irish won out which helped propel them back into the No. 2 spot this week for the 2022 recruiting class ahead of Penn State.

Merriweather is the classic big receiver who will be able to stretch the field and another exciting offensive prospect for Brian Kelly and company.

Notre Dame notched another major recruiting victory on Sunday afternoon as top-100 wideout C.J. Williams picked the Irish over a bunch of other elite programs such as Alabama, Texas, USC, Stanford, and more.

Out of Mater Dei in California, Williams is ranked 86th overall in the 247 sports composite rankings and adds another big, athletic wideout to the mix.

Both Williams and Merriweather are projected to be day-two NFL draft picks and while that’s an early scouting report, it tells you the kind of talent they possess.

Notre Dame football now has 15 four-star commitments in 2022 and with Williams, the Irish now have two ranked in the top 100.
