Herm Edwards has been dealing with a nightmarish offseason off the field. Things seemed to be running smoothly, but recently, Arizona State football has been the subject of an investigation regarding recruiting violations within the program.

The investigation likely won’t be done any time soon, so that could be looming over the Sun Devils throughout the 2021 season which is a shame because they have the talent to compete.

Sure, everyone and their brother might be rooting against Arizona State after these recent accusations, but all Edwards and Co. can do is get to work on tuning out the noise. If the Sun Devils play to their potential in 2021, there’s a good chance they win the Pac-12 South and potentially make a run at the conference championship.

That’s a big if, however.

The Sun Devils have arguably the best backfield in the Pac-12 and one of the best tandems in college football in Chip Trayanum and Rachaad White. They could lead this offense to the top of the conference and you throw in a dual-threat quarterback like Jayden Daniels and you have to feel like this team will move the ball with ease.

Arizona State has plenty of questions to answer off the field, but Edwards is focusing on 2021.

Will the Sun Devils make a push for a conference title or will the off-field issues be too much for this talented squad to overcome?
