Arizona State Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2021 season
This isn’t going to be an easy game for Arizona State on the road, but luckily for the Sun Devils, and unfortunately for the Cougars, Zach Wilson isn’t running out of that tunnel.
The Cougars are coming off one of their best seasons in school history, finishing 11-1 with a lone loss on the road to a ranked Coastal Carolina team. They lose Wilson and Dax Milne who led the offense last season so the No. 3 scoring team in the country should take a slight hit, at least.
Defensively, the Cougars were solid as well, ranking 10th nationally, but they lose seven starters from last season, including leading tackler Isaiah Kaufusi. Arizona State should escape hostile territory with a tight win.
Final Score: Arizona State 28, BYU 21 (3-0)
Karl Dorrell’s first season at Colorado was a success, but you have to wonder if that was because of the uncertainty of the COVID-19-plagued season or if it’s a sign of things to come with the Buffaloes under the new coach. He did perform well with some of Mel Tucker’s players so we’ll soon see how good of a coach he really is, but I see Colorado taking a big step back this season.
Jarek Broussard is the star of the team and he’s going to keep the Buffaloes in this one but he’ll be burnt out by the end of the third quarter.
Arizona State’s defense is going to be too much for this offense which I believe it going to take multiple steps back with the quarterback situation in question.
Final Score: Colorado 17, Arizona State 27 (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12)
