One of the most anticipated storylines in the SEC in 2020 was the arrival of Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss and his return to the conference as a head coach. Kiffin is known for his personality on and off the field and is one of the most entertaining follows on Twitter.

Ole Miss was one of the most fun teams to watch in the SEC last season because of their high-scoring offense, but what held the Rebels back was one of the worst defenses in the country. Ole Miss finished 117th in scoring defense and 126th in total defense and even just getting them to average could see a monster season in Oxford.

It was unclear who was going to be the starting quarterback heading into last season, as Matt Corral had not flashed as much of his potential and did not really fit in former offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez’s offense. John Rhys Plumlee flourished with Rodriguez, but it was unknown whether he would be a fit with Kiffin. The new coach made the right choice in going with Corral and he responded by having a great season.

Corral might be the best quarterback in the SEC and his presence is what has Rebels fans excited for this season.

Ole Miss was thought to be a sleeper of a program and when they had an unprecedented amount of success under former head coach Hugh Freeze, it was proven that someone could win big in Oxford. After Freeze was let go however for a number of reasons, it was unclear if the Rebels were ever going to be back to that level.

Kiffin had a very good first recruiting class and there is a lot of momentum in the program right now. If they can improve on their record from last season, watch out.
